Little Max is Scott Barrenger.
Hi, I’m Scott, Scotty, Scooter, and of course, Little Max. Why Little Max? Well, my dad’s big Max and … maybe I can share that story with you over coffee. But first I should introduce myself properly. I’m a senior creative thinker, award-winning art director and designer in the advertising and marketing industries with over 28 years’ experience.
During this time, I’ve worked in some of Australia’s leading ad agencies, including Ogilvy & Mather, Clemenger, Redsuit, SapientNitro, BCM, Engine Group and Khemistry. It’s given me the opportunity to develop creative solutions across every channel, from effective direct mail, print and outdoor ideas, to television, radio and digital campaigns – and everything in between.
Working across so many different channels has given me an intimate knowledge of art direction, graphic design, finished art and print production. Understanding the creative process helps ensure greater continuity, from contributing to the strategy, generating concepts and building the ‘look and feel’, to ensuring flawless delivery and integrated execution of all visual elements.
As a sought-after freelance creative, I’ve spent plenty of time working with smaller businesses and start-ups. One such stint resulted in a longer-term contract as creative director of an international jeweller undertaking a major rebrand and transformation. Working on the leadership team, we shifted a dated, traditional marketing process to an omni-channel, customer-focussed experience.
My approach to creative work is pretty simple. It’s all about finding a unique balance between generating impactful creative ideas and visual design with commercial pragmatism that produces practical solutions that deliver results. So if you’ve got a project, big or small, let’s chat over coffee.
